With
Valentines Day less than a week away it's all about getting that pout
prepped and perfected, forget the midweek face mask pamper session its
all about the lip pamper and getting your pout ready to pucker up this
Valentines Day. So if your lips are scalier than a fish, here are my
foolproof options for getting baby soft lips, in an instant.
The first step is a lip scrub and for this I make my own, with just a few household kitchen cupboard staples all you need is a little olive oil, sugar and honey you could also add a little flavouring, I use a little vanilla essence just to add a bit of a yummy flavour and scent to the mix. Here's how to make your own at home.
Method
1. Take 1 tablespoon of caster or granulated sugar
2. Add roughly 1/2 a teaspoon of olive oil until the sugar is tinged yellow it shouldn't be too runny.
3. Add a dash of honey, this is to stick the mixture together so you don't want to add too much as it will become sticky.
4.
Lastly add a drop or two of flavouring I use vanilla but you could use
anything you wanted, its just to give it a hint of flavour, and it makes
it even nicer to lick off your lips at the end.
Once
you've massaged the scrub into your lips and licked it off (which is
completely safe to do they are all edible ingredients) I dare you to
resist its actually rather nice. The next step is to moisturise and to
do this I use my favourite lip balm the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm I
can't say enough about this lip balm is a real miracle worker and one I
recommend it to everyone it literally transforms your lips, its not
like your typical lip balm it leaves lips feeling matte and almost
grainy in feel but after just one application ( I like to apply mine
before I go to sleep so it can work its magic overnight) its already
began working miracles, leaving lips soft and nourished. I haven't
looked back since using this its given me the confidence to be able to
go out bare lipped and with regular use there is no need to constantly
re-apply your lip balm.
Lastly
and a very important step is finding a boyfriend/husband/partner
approved lipstick, which is more difficult than it sounds, if my husband
is anything to go by, any sort of gloss or anything even remotely
sticky is instantly ruled out, same can be said of any bold colour, in
fact I'm sure most men would prefer us not to wear any at all but hey
who are they kidding we ain't giving up our lipsticks for anybody. I'm
all about the nudes recently (well most of the time really) I love Bourjois Rose Tweed & Mac's Creme Cup, both classic pink nudes with incredible moisturising formulas. A lipstick more in theme for the occasion would have to be Mac's Chatterbox
a wearable bright pink with its creamy moisturising finish its a great
bright for those who don't normally do brights you can see swatches here.
